Faintheart | Online Marketing Campaign
A selection of short behind-the-scenes videos that were released weekly and exclusively on MySpace.
Faintheart is “the worlds first user generated film” and was created from a project titled MyMovieMashUp in 2007 by social networking site MySpace and UK independent film production & distribution company, Vertigo Films. This was the first feature film that I ever worked on, and so will always be the beginning of my story working within the film industry. The film was being shot in my local county of Worcestershire in the West Midlands of England, UK, and production were recruiting certain cast & crew roles via MySpace.
I was hired as an EPK/Making-of Cameraman, and so when not studying during my second year at university, I was on-set filming behind-the-scenes footage to be used as part of the online marketing campaign and home video release.
After being invited to work with Vertigo Films again on another local project (The Children) a few months later, I was given the opportunity to work at the Vertigo Films offices in London as an in-house video editor during the summer between my second and third year of university. During my time there, I mainly worked on the featurettes for The Children (2008), however I also worked on the 2 videos below which were released online for the MySpace community.
